Welcome to the world of PurpleMurple.  I'm Debi Penhey and I'm an experienced Jewish educator.  I've spent the last 24 years working in Jewish education, first as a religion school teacher, as a Family Education Co-ordinator, then as a teacher trainer and education consultant.

I was part of the team in the Department of Jewish Education (formerly CJE) at the Leo Baeck College for 13 years, working with Head Teachers of Religion Schools, teaching on the Religion School Teachers' Foundation Course and delivering in-service teacher training in religion schools around the UK and Ireland.  I also organised regular Shabbatonim for small communities around the country, and annual early years inset days for several years.

Nowadays I work as an Education Consultant to Head Teachers of Jewish religion schools, and faciliate meetings, training, research and maintain an online resource for Jewish educators, www.hamitria.org.uk.

I am the Education Coordinator at the Liberal Jewish Synagogue (LJS) where I work closely with the Head Teacher to ensure that the religion school runs smoothly.  

As PurpleMurple, I deliver arts and crafts workshops for children, adults, families and for staff training.  I offer training sessions on many topics (see list) for religion school teachers and assistants, and can act as a consultant to your religion school or to individual teachers.
